Alexandria
Alexandria does not add a global command palette or a custom Cmd/Ctrl+S
shortcut. Notes and titles auto-save as you edit. These shortcuts apply in the
desktop and Android app where the relevant field, dialog, picker, or editor has
focus.
| Shortcut | Where it works | Action |
|---|---|---|
Escape | Modals, search dialogs, emoji picker, move picker, and popover menus | Close the open dialog, picker, or menu. |
Enter | Note title, inline property editor, and workspace path field | Confirm the current value. In note titles, Enter leaves title editing; the edit is still saved by auto-save. |
ArrowDown / ArrowUp | Tag search dropdown | Move through the tag search results. |
Enter | Tag search dropdown | Select the highlighted tag. |
Escape | Tag search dropdown | Close the dropdown. |
| Android hardware Back | Android app, after navigating between notes | Return to the previously viewed note. If a dismissible layer is open, Back closes that layer first. |
Alexandria uses BlockNote for the note body, so it inherits standard editor shortcuts and input rules. Avoid relying on less common combinations unless you have verified them in the app.
